Embedded C Developer


Saucon Technologies, Inc. is seeking energetic, analytical individuals to join our team of engineers as full-time employees in our Bethlehem, PA office. Saucon Technologies offers a competitive benefits package along with flexible work schedules.

The candidate fulfilling this position will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of software from concept to completion. The candidate will work independently or in a small team to develop embedded mobile software solutions on existing products and next generation telemetry, cellular, wi-fi and video products. A typical workday will involve participating in the design/development of new products and features, as well as enhancing and maintaining existing embedded software. Developers will take ownership over their code and be entrusted to manage their time effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Design & development of complex real-time embedded systems
  • Participate in all facets of software development initiatives including requirements, design specifications, system development, troubleshooting, debugging, unit testing, code reviews, risk assessments, support and system software release
  • Interact professionally and clearly with customers, support desk and other employees

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or closely related field
  • Experience designing and implementing embedded software in C under Linux
  • Experience with standard Linux OS and administrative tools
  • Customer-focused, with ability to work in a small team environment or independently

Beneficial:

  • Experience in each phase of the software development life-cycle, including support and maintenance

Embedded Firmware Engineer


Saucon Technologies, Inc. is seeking energetic, analytical individuals to join our team of engineers as full-time employees in our Bethlehem, PA office. Saucon Technologies offers a competitive benefits package along with flexible work schedules.

The candidate fulfilling this position will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of low level firmware from concept to completion. The candidate will work independently or in a small team to develop embedded firmware solutions and work with embedded C developers to create embedded and IoT products ready for field deployment. A typical workday will involve participating in the design/development of new products and features, as well as enhancing and maintaining existing embedded firmware for various products. Developer will take ownership over their code and be entrusted to manage their time effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop low level firmware in Linux and bare-metal environments
  • Debug and troubleshoot system level problems that involve hardware and firmware
  • Utilize oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, etc.
  • Design and implement development testing fixtures and software
  • Work closely with embedded C developers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or closely related field.
  • 2+ years in bare-metal environment development
  • Experience with standard interfaces / protocols (e.g., SPI, UART, I2C, USB)
  • Ability to work in a small team environment or independently

Specialist Engineer

This candidate fulfilling this position will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of video processing, streaming, viewing and analytic solutions from concept to completion. The candidate will work closely with both our embedded C development team and our cloud based web development team to provide robust video solutions for our customers. A typical workday will involve participating in the design/development of new products and features, as well as enhancing and maintaining existing video technologies. Developers will take ownership over their code and be entrusted to manage their time effectively.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related field
  • 2+ years in the area of video processing and analytics
  • Experience with video compression and encoding/decoding techniques (h264/h265)
  • Experience designing and implementing client side video player technology
  • Knowledge of video streaming techniques
  • Customer-focused, with ability to work in a small team environment or independently

Beneficial:
